BettsNest is a small Mother’s Day Out program run by Arian Betts in her home in Cedar Hill, Texas. This page explains what we collect through this website and the BettsNest app, who can see it, and how to have it removed. The short version: we collect only what we need to care for your child and keep you informed, we never sell it, and photographs of children are never public.
What we collect
- Inquiries from this website: your name, email, phone, your child’s name and date of birth, the start date you would like, and anything you write to us.
- Registration: parent and emergency contacts, who may pick your child up, custody notes you choose to share, your child’s doctor and preferred hospital, the getting-to-know-you answers about your child (including allergies and routines), and your typed acceptance of the enrollment agreement.
- The app: your email address (to sign you in — there are no passwords), a notification token for your phone if you allow notifications, and what Arian records during the morning: photographs, notes and newsletters, and your child’s daily care log (diapers and what they ate).
- Payments: tuition is paid through Stripe. We receive the payer’s name and email, the amount and whether it succeeded. We never see or store card or bank details.
Who can see it
- Arian sees everything, because she is caring for your child.
- You see posts meant for every family, posts that include your own child, and your own child’s daily care log. You never see another family’s care log or registration details.
- Nobody else. Photographs of children are never posted on this website or on social media, and every photograph in the app is fetched through a check that you are allowed to see it.
What we do not do
We do not sell or share your information for advertising. The app and this website contain no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. We do not use your information for anything other than running the program.
Services we rely on
Our servers are run by us in the United States. Email is sent through our mail provider (PurelyMail), notifications to iPhones go through Apple, and payments are processed by Stripe. Each receives only what it needs to do that one job.
Children
The app is for parents and guardians of enrolled children, not for children to use. Information about a child is provided by their parent or recorded by Arian while caring for them. Each child’s appearance in photographs follows the photo-consent choice on the signed registration form.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep a family’s information while they are enrolled. When a photograph is taken down, the picture itself is deleted from our servers, not just hidden. To have your account and your family’s information deleted, or to get a copy of it, email [email protected] from the address on your account. In the app, Family → Delete my account removes your sign-in immediately and tells Arian, who then deletes your family’s records and confirms by email. Records a licensed child-care operation is required to keep are kept only as long as the law requires.
